BIG TWIST Coronation Street star joins Doctor Who as major new villain – and she’s already made surprise appearance

The actress – who played Lydia Hartman and Donna Stout in two stints on the cobbles – has already made two appearances in the sci-fi show, The Sun can reveal.

The executives of the show have skillfully integrated Susan’s persona, who goes by multiple monikers, into the 60th anniversary specials as well as Ncuti Gatwa’s Christmas Day full-time premiere.

She debuted in the film Wild Blue Yonder as Mrs. Merridew.

Before the figure recognizes mavity in the 1600s, he is shown speaking with Isaac Newton.

But in a surprising turn of events, the actress made a second appearance in the Christmas special, this time in contemporary London.

She was spotted in a bar, watching Ruby Sunday’s band—played by Millie Gibson, a former Coronation Street actress—perform.

She heckled the band as the music stopped due to the goblins taking over the celebration.

She yelled from the audience, “Give it some welly!” while sporting a 1970s-inspired ensemble.

She then asks inquisitively, “Can you do Gaudete?”

The Christmas carol Gaudete was written in the sixteenth century, which is when Mrs. Merridew and Isaac Newton were born.

The bosses wanted to keep her reappearance a little more under wraps, thus the appearance went unacknowledged.

But The Sun can exclusively disclose that Susan will make numerous appearances in the new eight-part series, which premieres on May 11.

She will portray tech entrepreneur Susan Triad, the leader of Triad Industries, a business that will be subtly mentioned throughout the series.

In the last David Tennant-led special, Bonnie Langford’s Mel had already disclosed that UNIT was defending the planet using TRIAD software.

According to a source, Susan’s characters will follow the Doctor on his new adventures across space and time, but they won’t be endearing faces.

“The reveal will be explosive and she will be a formidable opponent for Ruby and the Time Lord.”
