Major EastEnders and Coronation Street exits confirmed as Emmerdale and Hollyoaks air proposals in 12 soap spoilers

Following much conjecture, EastEnders has revealed the details of Ben Mitchell’s departure story: the beloved mechanic gets into trouble after running afoul of the law.

Meanwhile, when Summer Spellman gets ready to leave Weatherfield for new pastures, there will be plenty of tears shed on Coronation Street.

Exits aren’t the only thing happening next week: several proposals are also planned. Mandy Dingle from Emmerdale will be stunned when Paddy Kirk pops the question, while Carter Shepherd from Hollyoaks will ask Maxine Minniver to marry him.

EastEnders

When the cops show up to arrest Ben during a surprise birthday celebration for Callum, his entire world is flipped upside down. When information about a prior crime becomes available, he protests his innocence and subsequently asks Phil for something. While all is going on, Lexi wants to know the truth—specifically, why has Ben been arrested?

Callum advises Phil to see his son before taking advantage of his career, but will he be successful in his efforts? What exactly is Ben’s future going to hold? It’s not looking good for the character as Max Bowden is about to leave after five years!

Zack throws Whitney a welcome-home baby shower, and Lauren promises not to tell anyone that he made a pass at her several weeks prior. But soon after Whitney gets home with Britney in tow and reveals that she’s her new foster mother, Zack’s focus shifts to something else. Zack storms off, furious that Whitney withheld this information from him.

When Jade returns to the Square so soon after her medical stint, Jean is shocked. While this is going on, Dean hands Jade over to Jean in response to a reporter’s request for an interview. Johnny is happy to provide a character reference.

When Jean follows up with Jade, she tells him that her dad has been giving her medicine. Jean checks and discovers the pill cases are empty. But Dean assigns Jean the blame!

Coronation Street

At the Rovers, Glenda organizes a speed dating event, which goes poorly. She discovers masked robbers robbing the till after closing! The goons tell the bartender to get on the floor, and she follows their orders out of fear. While a distraught Glenda calls the police to report the event, the robbers flee with the loot.

In anticipation of Summer’s departure, Billy decides to prepare a roast supper. Later in the week, Summer departs in poignant scenes as she says farewell and heads for Boston.

Daisy’s mother Christina makes her way back to Weatherfield and declares that she plans to remain for a fortnight. Ryan is shocked when Daisy tells her mother she’s not welcome, but he assures Christina that because she gave them the money to buy the pub, she’s more than welcome to stay. Christina finds it intriguing, but will she comply?

Emmerdale

Liam advises Paddy to struggle to regain Mandy’s affection, giving him encouragement not to give up on her. Meanwhile, Marlon exhorts him to stake everything on the line. While Mandy is getting a makeover in the salon from Amelia, Paddy shows up and, in a touching moment, drops the question. Will Mandy say yes, though?

When Tom downloads a tracking program on his phone and verifies that he is continuously monitoring Belle, his demeanor darkens even further. When he brings home a rescue puppy later in the week, Belle refuses to quit her job to care for it, leaving him furious.

Eric is aware that Amit cannot be trusted, therefore he keeps looking into his shady activities. The Emmerdale veteran gets inside Holdgate with Vinny’s help, and he uses that opportunity to spy on Amit to find out what clues he might be hiding. But Amit figures out what Eric is planning and heads straight for Holdate; will Eric get caught in the act?

Hollyoaks

Joel tells Marie that he’s missed her and that, despite their early hostility, things are improving between the mother and son. Marie is overjoyed. However, Marie came to the village with malicious intentions. She turns to Abe in an attempt to find her youngest son Arlo, but it soon becomes clear that evil Abe is up to no good.

When Maxine presses for clarification, Carter feels forced into telling her that he is bisexual. The head teacher starts punishing John Paul by threatening to dismiss him again since he believes he is at fault. Carter approaches Maxine at the market in a last-ditch attempt to keep her in his life, but what will Maxine say?

As things between the two get hotter, Beau gives Kitty some advice about her nursing career. But Beau hesitates to take their passion into the bedroom, leaving the relationship uneasy. Telling Beau that it’s over, Kitty feels rejected.
