Cameron Mathison Reveals How His New Series Will Affect GH

Cameron Mathison (Drew, GENERAL HOSPITAL) has worked as a talk show host, news correspondent, and actor throughout his career. However, he will soon be adding game show host to his already impressive résumé! He posted on Instagram, “I am very happy to announce that I will be hosting the brand-new program BEAT THE BRIDGE.” It’s going to be enormous. Stay tuned—there are a ton of great things coming up!

Based on the BBC series Bridge of Lies, BEAT THE BRIDGE will make its Game Show Network debut in June. In order to traverse a massive interactive bridge, contestants must tread on the right answers to trivia questions, with each step contributing money to the pot. However, the team’s sole opportunity to win is to “beat the bridge”—that is, to get one player back across before the allotted time runs out.

Mathison is eager to tell GH viewers, though, that his role as Drew on the serial opera won’t be impacted by his new hosting role. The actor asked in a comment on his own article, “Have some questions about how this affects GH?” It doesn’t! Drew is here to stay, as I already shot BEAT THE BRIDGE the previous year!

By now, Mathison ought to be an old hand at handling several jobs! In addition to competing on DANCING WITH THE STARS, he started working as a host and correspondent for GOOD MORNING AMERICA back when he portrayed Ryan on ALL MY CHILDREN. Additionally, he was able to film films for Great American Family and Hallmark while co-hosting HOME AND FAMILY on the Hallmark Channel and portraying Drew on GH.

Watching BEAT THE BRIDGE on Game Show Network this summer will give viewers a double dose of Mathison, who they can still enjoy on GH! He exclaimed, “I’m so happy to be a part of the GSN family and can’t wait for you all to see it.”
