Fans of Home and Away in the UK will learn that Harper Matherson became unexpectedly pregnant after a one-night affair with Tane Parata.
Harper is reluctant to tell Tane the news in the next scenes because he is preoccupied with Perri, the newcomer. Tane is researching the teen’s educational alternatives, and Harper advises him to speak with Perri before making a choice.
In light of his past relationship with Carl, Tane declares that some people are simply unfit to be parents. Harper is stung by the remark because she still doesn’t know how to inform Tane that she is expecting a child.
Harper decides to inform Tane about Theo Poulos’s emotional outburst about the difficulty of maintaining secrets, but he struggles to ignore Perri.
He acknowledges that the teenager has consumed all of his thoughts. Harper leaves, but passes out before Tane can question her about her true motivations.
Harper’s sister Dana persuades her to explain why she hasn’t told Tane yet until she eventually comes around. Harper explains that she knows Tane is incredibly excited to become a father and that she fears she won’t be able to make her own decisions once he finds out about the pregnancy.
Dana tells her that her secret is safe with her and acknowledges her doubts.
Perri later declares he’s moving in with Tane permanently. Harper discovers there’s a spark between Tane and her throughout their supper together.
