Emmerdale’s Kate Brooks has confirmed her joining Coronation Street as a producer.
According to the report, Brooks will assume creative duties for the ITV serial opera and begin her new position in April.
“I’ve had a wonderful time working on Emmerdale and I feel immensely proud to be part of a team that has achieved such great success over the past eight years,” Brooks stated.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the program, and I have had the honor of collaborating with a group of incredibly brilliant, diligent, and endearing individuals.
“Emmerdale has given me so much more than I could have ever expected, both personally and professionally, and I will always be grateful for that. Thank you Emmerdale; it has been a true joy.”
Brooks has a history with Coronation Street, having served as a story producer there before joining Emmerdale as a producer in 2018.

Verity MacLeod, who recently filled in as acting producer, will return to her position as assistant producer, and she will replace her in her new post on Coronation Street.
As per her new role, Brooks will answer to Iain MacLeod, executive producer for continuing drama, John Whiston, managing director for continuing drama and head of ITV in the North, and Huw Kennair-Jones, ITV drama commissioner.
“Kate is a fantastic storyteller and I know under her guidance the show will be ambitious, exciting and full of heart and humour,” Iain MacLeod said.
She is a perfect fit for the program and is completely Corrie. I am eager to collaborate with her once more and really interested to see what the future chapter contains.”
