Fans were quick to respond to the post featuring the ITV soap’s stars Luca Toolan and Liam McChenyne
As Luca Toolan and Liam McChenyne, the show’s actors, teased a “coming soon” tease, Coronation Street fans responded with a “real” comment. The two are well-known to viewers of the venerable program because they portrayed Dylan Willson and Mason Radcliffe in Weatherfield.
The two have been a part of Corrie’s tragic bullying plot, which has included Charlie Wrenshall’s character Liam Connor. Mason has been pursuing Liam nonstop since he first appeared on film a year ago.
The Weatherfield High student’s group of friends, which also includes Liam’s neighbor and old friend Dylan Wilson, has not been the only one tormenting and abusing the other teenager.
Following a bullying campaign, it was tragically discovered that Liam was thinking about ending his life. His mother, Maria Connor, was keeping a close eye on him and trying to get him care for his mental health and justice in the form of school and police action.
Fans of Corrie saw the teen detained last week. When the police showed up to Eileen Girmshaw’s house, Dylan maintained that he had no knowledge of a weapon after Maria Windass and her husband Gary convinced Liam to give an account.
Dylan was given an instruction by Mason to grab the knife and meet him in the park. But it was all a set-up, and while Dylan waited anxiously, Craig came over and started searching. Dylan was encouraged to tell the police what he knew, including how Mason had made him feel so afraid that he had to do what he said, by Solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey, who was available to try and assist Dylan.
However, Dee-Dee showed up later and delivered the heartbreaking news that he will be charged by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). After thereafter, he was spotted getting together with Mason, and Dylan confessed to have informed the police about Mason’s involvement in the hit-and-run.
But earlier this week, Corrie broadcast an update regarding bully Mason, who appeared to have gotten away with torturing Liam when the victim’s mother Maria and stepfather Gary Windass received some encouraging news from the authorities. Mason risks a jail term after it was confirmed that he has been charged with making a threat in a public setting with a bladed object. And a number of Corrie fans were left wondering on social media if this meant Mason will never appear again.
A recent video that was uploaded to Corrie’s Instagram page shows Luca and Liam playing what appears to be a game of “Connect 4” in the Rovers set. The video has a caption that says, “Never have I ever… been starstruck.” They both nodded, and then Luca said, “When I met you because you’re a star!”
Reactions to the post from fans were swift, as many were thrilled to see the two behaving so differently from their on-screen personas. “It’s so lovely to see them off screen,” said @irenemk50. “Two brilliant young actors,” said @suenightingale60 in a comment. According to @master15920, “The bromance is real.”
“Aww the bromance!” was the reply from @randomladbwfc. The comment was made by @amorynickson: “That’s what we like to see.” Posted by @prime_hunter_123: “It’s so nice to see them off screen.” Additionally, @pamelasmith19800 said, “Aww I Love them.”
