Soap fans believe Toyah Battersby may have a secret daughter who is closer to home than anyone suspects.
Fans of Coronation Street think they may have uncovered the identity of Toyah Battersby’s secret child in a surprising DNA twist. Viewers of the ITV soap will know that Toyah, played by Georgia Taylor, and the Platt family have endured a particularly difficult few months.
Earlier this year, Toyah’s stepson, Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan), was diagnosed with schizophrenia after experiencing hallucinations. He recently suffered another relapse after pushing Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) down the stairs at the Rovers. Sam also confessed to spending more than £6,000 of his father Nick’s (Ben Price) money on cryptocurrency.
Meanwhile, Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown) has been creating further trouble at number eight. In recent scenes, Jodie has been attempting to drive a wedge between herself and her older sister, Shona (Julia Goulding), as she tries to push Shona out of the picture.
Jodie has even been playing random baby sounds around the house to convince Shona that she was imagining things. Rather than admitting what she had done, Jodie blamed Shona’s stepdaughter, Lily (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner), earlier this week. The incident prompted Shona to spend a night at the Chariot Square Hotel.
The situation took a dramatic turn when David (Jack P. Shepherd) teamed up with Shona to expose Jodie’s deep resentment towards her sister. Jodie then pulled a gun on the pair, but during a struggle with Shona, she was shot in the stomach.
In the latest episode, which aired on Friday, October 9, and is now available to stream on ITVX, David called an ambulance and reported that someone had been shot. Paramedics soon arrived at the scene, accompanied by an armed police officer.
Sharing their DNA theory on a Facebook fan page, one viewer commented: “Is it just me, or does Lily Platt look like a younger version of Toyah?” Another fan responded: “Oh my god, could she be her secret daughter?”
A third viewer added that they had noticed the resemblance the previous night. However, some fans had a different theory, pointing out that Lily also looks similar to Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), who left Weatherfield last year.
