Coronation Street’s David Neilson reveals Roy Cropper’s ‘downfall’ amid murder accusations

The much-loved character will find himself being accused of being involved in the disappearance and possible murder of Lauren Bolton

David Neilson, a Coronation Street star, has disclosed Roy Cropper’s demise during his interrogation on suspicion of murder. In upcoming scenes, the beloved character will face accusations that he is connected to the disappearance and potential murder of former employee Lauren Bolton.

After Roy fired Lauren from her job at the café, she vanished a few weeks ago, and on Valentine’s Day, a mystery visitor showed up at her house. Although the identity of the guest remained a mystery to the audience, her expression was filled with concern and her heart seemed to be sinking at the sight of him.

Bobby, Lauren’s romantic interest, discovered her apartment unlocked and Lauren missing later. Since then, he has been making every effort to locate her. The suspicion over Roy starts when Bobby learns that bloodstains have been discovered on Lauren’s apartment’s drapes. Bobby notifies DS Swain of the discovery and the fact that Roy has been thoroughly cleaning the apartment, and DS Swain promptly launches an investigation.

However, as viewers of Corrie are aware, Roy’s sincerity doesn’t always work in his favor, and that will be evident when he encounters DS Swain. In the Corrie episode that airs on Friday, March 15, he is brought in by the police to be questioned. He finds himself virtually imprisoned in his own house when word of his detention spreads online, with social media detectives and vigilantes drawn to the case and the neighbor’s purported participation.

Roy’s closest and dearest advise him to keep a low profile after he decides to attend a vigil for the missing teenager. Roy is heckled by a baying mob who are photographing them on his phone. Even at Roys Rolls, he is vulnerable to charges; he is stuck in the café with two goons, one of whom being Lauren’s father and the other one being one of Griff Reynolds’ political extreme band, Reece’s heavies, who demand to know what he did with Lauren.

Actor David revealed what he believed to be the potential demise of his character: “Obviously this is the issue but his truthfulness is something I’ve always tried to establish.” This is due to the fact that his brain is incapable of handling ambiguity or deceit.

Therefore, if it’s easier for him to understand what he believes to be good and bad. He is able to take criticism and is willing to talk about things, but it must be in line with his morals; it is personal. If not, I believe he would just go insane. He always seems to be hanging in there, in my opinion. He is himself; he doesn’t do stuff to win people over. He is the worst opponent he has. That’s the truth of the matter.”

However, it’s certain that friends Evelyn Plummer and Carla Connor, as well as niece Nina Lucas, will be there to support Roy. David answered, “They know who he is.” “They are aware that with Roy, you truly get what you see. on television. It functions incredibly well. If you live next to him, though, you might want to steer clear of him when he’s emptying his milk bottles. You are aware that there is something incredibly bothersome about him, and this mob is able to take advantage of his flaws.”
