Swain’s not going to make many friends in Weatherfield!
Someone is in trouble because DS Swain from Coronation Street is back on the cobbles! And to the surprise of everyone in Weatherfield, Roy Cropper is the one facing termination this time!
How? Surely there has been an error?
As DS Swain and her dependable sidekick PC Craig Tinker look into Lauren Bolton’s unexplained disappearance, Roy is being singled out

Lauren’s vanished
Coronation Street viewers are aware that Lauren appears to have disappeared without a trace. Although Roy is certain that Lauren has merely left Weatherfield to start over somewhere else—after all, it is what she herself told him she was going to do—her friends Max and Bobby are certain that something terrible has happened.
When he learns that Evelyn will be held accountable for the mess Lauren left behind in the apartment, he unintentionally finds himself in it.
Roy, bless him, decides to tidy up on his own, but Bobby is suspicious when he discovers him there searching through Lauren’s possessions.
Bobby informs DS Swain of Sean’s decision to rent the apartment after he notices what appears to be blood on the curtains.

Swain’s on the case!
We spoke with Vicky Myers, who portrays DS Lisa Swain, to learn more about her theory on Lauren’s disappearance as well as her experience of apprehending one of Corrie’s most recognizable characters.
Vicky tells us that Roy ends up in the frame because of Bobby’s interview with Swain, and some parts of that exchange make you wonder.
She notices his honesty and mild fragility, and it seems almost too good to be true. She then dissects that, and things go on from there. Additionally, there is proof that once Swain and Tinker enter Lauren’s apartment, there is human tissue and blood on the drapes, proving the incident progresses.

Coronation Street’s DS Swain makes an arrest!
But really, guys! It’s Roy here! Beautiful Roy. DS Swain can’t really believe he did that, can he?
But according to Vicky, she does!
She claims, “Swain doesn’t know Roy.” Roy doesn’t matter to her. She works with the facts. She is essentially handling this issue from Lauren’s point of view, speaking for the victim.”
“I think really the evidence is there to suggest Roy’s responsible,” she continues. However, Swain finds Roy rather uncomfortable because she has never encountered someone like him before. The scenes are really captivating. However, she doesn’t really think it’s her place to judge whether he’s guilty or not. Her responsibility is to gather and disseminate the evidence.

Handcuffed!
As the story develops, a murder investigation is opened, and unfortunate Roy is taken into custody. What was it like to put a beloved character from Corrie in handcuffs?
“It was awful,” admits Vicky. “Sorry! I believe there may be some opposition.
Vicky is loving the plot, however she is concerned about what people might think of her alter identity.
She exclaims, “Working with David (Neilson, who pays Roy) is wow!” What an amazing person. He is very kind and nice. He has unsurpassed talent. It’s been enjoyable. I have the utmost regard for this man. He is a legend!
We are obliged to concur.

Daniel in the frame?
However, it appears like Roy isn’t the only person in the picture. Daniel Osbourne is a different Weatherfield resident about whom DS Swain has concerns.
Daniel brings up his history with sex worker Nicky Wheatley, his “disagreements” with Max in the past, and even the infatuation Summer had on him. Vicky says, “There is a line of inquiry regarding whether Daniel has been tutoring Lauren for sexual favors.” Maybe that’s what has been occurring.
Sounds succulent!
DS Swain doesn’t seem like he will have many friends in Weatherfield, though.
“Maybe she won’t after this,” I speculate. Vicky acknowledges. She is straightforward, unpretentious, and unaffected by the folks on the Street. She doesn’t reside there, thus her family isn’t involved. She under a great deal of pressure to discover the truth.

What do we know about DS Swain?
The good news is that DS Swain is now a regular figure on Coronation Street, which should please viewers if not the show’s criminal residents.
“It has advanced in such an amazing manner,” remarks Vicky.
Who is she then, when she’s not capturing villains?
According to Vicky, “Relationship-wise, we know she has a teenage daughter, and I’m not sure everybody knows this, but she’s gay.”
Maybe she’s noticed someone who has drawn her attention. However, she’s way too busy right now handling her teenage daughter and her home life!”
Thus, more is yet to come?
“With Swain, we’ve only just begun to touch the surface. I’m curious to learn more about her! I don’t think she’ll enter the Rovers. But who knows? Everything can happen, which is what makes this location so lovely.
