EXCLUSIVE: Although Sarah Platt from Coronation Street was hit in the head by Stephen Reid last week after he frantically tried to escape Weatherfield, the actress has recently opened up about an awkward mistake made while filming.
Actress Tina O’Brien, who plays Sarah Platt on Coronation Street, has talked openly about experiencing whiplash after pulling a stunt with Stephen Reid co-star Todd Boyce.
The truth about Stephen’s murder, the money he stole from Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls), and dosing Carla Connor (Alison King) with LSD was finally revealed last week.
In the Rovers Return, Stephen held Sarah and Jenny Connor (Sally-Ann Matthews) hostage before being shot dead by Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).
Sarah and Jenny realised they weren’t alone in the pub and began to panic about Stephen being there.
However, as the pair began to flee, Stephen hit Sarah over the head with a wine bottle which left her unconscious on the floor and her head bleeding.

Speaking candidly about filming the stunt, actress Tina O’Brien acknowledged that she believed she had whiplash from having to repeat the takes so many times.
When asked if she enjoyed the stunt work in the scenes, Tina told Express.co.uk and other members of the press: “I hardly had any compared to Sally-Ann.
“But the bit I did have, I mean, it’s great being clocked around the head, but it made me constantly wonder whether doing something like that as a job is the right choice,” the author continued.
“We must have repeated it about 15 times just to be sure we got the shot. I literally gave myself whiplash, and I was unable to move the following day.

“Honest to God the next day I thought, ‘Well this is not for me’, it was very very physical and yeah we had some really long days.”
Even though Stephen’s reign of terror is over, he has left a trail of destruction, particularly with regard to the future of Underworld.
Stephen tricked Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) into giving him the pin code to the account during his week-long attempt to flee, and he stole £250,000.
In scenes that are set to air tonight, Sarah has to break the news to Michael that he has lost his job at Underworld, leaving him devastated.
Carla is also soon set to fly to Spain to try and secure a new deal to save Underworld and the employee’s jobs, but will it be enough?
