In 2022, Mick Carter went missing at sea.
Occasionally, there are rumors that Danny Dyer is coming back to EastEnders. Mick was first introduced to the soap opera ten years ago on Christmas Day 2023. And supporters were confident that he will return in a big way.
Unfortunately, things didn’t work out, but now there are rumors that Mick is returning to Walford.
What has Danny stated regarding a comeback to EastEnders? Is he going to make an unexpected return? Will Danny Dyer be making a comeback to EastEnders?
How did Mick Carter leave?

For nine years, from December 25, 2013, to December 25, 2022, Danny Dyer played Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter. He remained on television for the entire year before he announced his resignation in January 2022.
Following his marriage to Janine Butcher, Mick quit the show. Because of Janine’s interference and Linda Carter’s drunkenness, his relationship with his soulmate had ended.
Even though his true affection was for Linda, Mick made a commitment to Janine once she became pregnant. But when Mick learned that Janine had put Linda up to be blamed for a vehicle accident, he broke their brief relationship and returned to Linda.
Janine ran away because she knew the cops would be after her. Mick and Linda wanted to bring her to justice and followed her, but a dramatic crash saw the car go over the cliff in Dover and into the sea.
Mick went back for Linda, unaware that she was already safe on the coast, after saving Janine and his unborn child at Linda’s behest. Mick vanished and was thought to be dead.
Is Danny Dyer returning to EastEnders?

There was a lot of reflection on Mick’s character as the episode got closer to the anniversary of his disappearance last year. After her rapist Dean Wicks returned, Linda relapsed after finding it difficult to handle her first Christmas without him.
Mick was discussed extensively, and close-ups of his pictures were displayed on the wall of The Vic. Because of all of this, there have been rumors that Danny Dyer will return to EastEnders.
Fans assumed Mick was somehow involved since Linda was part of the massive plot at Christmas as one of “The Six” ladies who killed one of “The Seven” men on Christmas Day.
But it turned out that Keanu Taylor was the murder victim, even though Linda was the murderer. Unfortunately, Mick was nowhere to be seen.
Rumors of a return

Danny created a stir back in December 2023 when he said on Instagram that he was “going back.” However, it turned out that he was referring to a return to The Football Factory, another beloved project. In celebration of the sports drama’s 20th anniversary, Danny would reprise his role as lead with director Nick Love.
Additionally, several media sites gave fans the impression that Danny was returning to EastEnders when on-set photos of him filming the new comedy series Mr. Bigstuff on Sky were made public.
So, what has Danny Dyer said about a return?

Danny made an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show after leaving EastEnders, when he disclosed the true reason behind his departure.
He told the host, “It’s a very emotional thing, it’s such a big part of me.”
He went on, “I tell you what it is, I’m lazy.” It’s [bleeping] difficult. You have to memorize thirty pages every day. It resembles a movie every week.
Discussing Danny’s final scenes on the show, Jonathan pointed out that Mick’s body was never found.
“I can go back if it goes [bleep] up,” Danny retorted. In three years, I can show up and enter The Queen Vic while covered in seaweed.
“They wanted to keep it open,” he added. I feel really fortunate and appreciative of that position. My life and career were truly altered by it.
But since leaving, he has also taken aim at the soap opera. “All I got for the past couple of years was, ‘You still in that EastEnders?'” Danny said in an interview with The Sun.I no longer watch it. The problem was that it was constant.
“I didn’t quite know who I was playing anymore, it was an odd thing,” he said, adding that he thought Mick had lost his sense of purpose in the soap opera.
Although he wouldn’t name them, he also admitted on Jonathan Ross that he “disliked” a number of his co-stars. But according to The Sun, Steve McFadden, who starred with Phil Mitchell, didn’t like Danny when he first arrived in 2013.
Danny Dyer teases Mick Carter return at NTAs 2024

Danny hasn’t entirely ruled out a comeback, despite his negative remarks on the serial opera. He told Radio Times in September 2023: “I don’t regret leaving, but it was really emotional for me.”
“Mick’s departure seemed like a true “full stop,” but it may have been a “dot, dot, dot.”
Would it be possible to eliminate that “dot, dot, dot” sooner rather than later? Certainly, a lot of admirers wish so!
Danny Dyer hinted that Mick Carter would be making a comeback to the soap opera during yesterday night’s NTAs (Wednesday, September 11).
He yelled, “Bring Mick back!” on stage.
“I miss you and I love you.” Bring Mick back. Do you believe that Mick should be brought back?
Could Mick be added to the list of previous favorites that the soap opera is bringing back in anticipation of its 40th anniversary?
Danny hopes to return for EastEnders 40th anniversary

Danny Dyer recently stated in an interview with the KISS Breakfast Radio Show that he would like to return to EastEnders for the 40th anniversary of the soap opera this month (October 2024).
“I would be up for going back for the 40th anniversary, but nobody’s contacted me,” the actor hinted.
“I threw it out there.” My wife Linda has turned into a murderous woman, and I believe I must go back and save her.
“I am a little concerned about it.”
Could Mick Carter be the next to return to Walford, where a lot of returns have been happening lately?
