EastEnders confirms loneliness storyline for Phil Mitchell

Phil Mitchell will face difficulties in future scenes as he grows more alone, according to EastEnders.

Earlier this summer, Phil started to sour relations with his friends and family, which led to several disputes and, in the end, Denise moving out and warning him that he would become a very lonely man.

Teddy tells Phil that he wants to purchase Peggy’s in order to honor his family in scenes that will air on the BBC soap opera next week. But Phil rejects him because he finds his modest offer annoying.

Phil, who is growing more and more alone and alienated, is the target of separate conversations from Sharon and Kat. However, Phil keeps his feelings to himself and won’t talk to any of them.

Later on, Sharon questions whether Phil truly wants to sell Peggy’s and attempts to persuade him to see the benefits of doing so. Phil’s mood is still affected negatively by the club sale, but he ignores Sharon’s attempts to discuss it with him.

Later in the week, when Richie isn’t there, Johnny asks Phil if he would be willing to give him some freelancing work. Will Phil concur?

Laura Doddington’s character, Teddy’s ex-wife Nicola, arrives at the same time as this new plotline. Nicola overhears Teddy setting up a meeting with Phil to sign the documents for the club’s sale, so she approaches Phil to discuss her new plan.

Doddington recently hinted at specifics about her persona by calling her “complex”.

“Nicola is a multifaceted individual who is like the Tasmanian Devil! She claimed to be powerful and unrepentant about her identity, and executive producer Chris Clenshaw called her “feisty.”
