GH Alum David Lautman Is Engaged To Megan Li Wang!

We’d like to extend our congratulations to David Lautman, the former Smoltz, who graduated from General Hospital, on his engagement to model and actress Megan Li Wang! “She replied, ‘Yes,'” he wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of her hand resting over his and the stunning engagement ring on her finger. Technically speaking, though, she answered, “Yeah, sure! I don’t know who you are.” However, we’ll put that down to the proposal-induced adrenaline, shock, astonishment, and uncontrollable laughing.

Though we’ve seen some pretty original wedding proposals, this one definitely wins! In fact, Lautman entered and shot more video to add to the conclusion of a commercial he and Wang produced for IMB ThinkPads. The commercial ended, leaving her to ponder why it was airing and whether they would receive residuals. Lautman then went on camera by himself, and the voice-over announcer asked if he had anything else to add. The big question was asked by the real-life Lautman after the on-screen Lautman used special effects to make a ring box appear in his palm!

After dropping down on one knee and unwrapping the package, Lautman remarked, “We met on this commercial, so I thought it would only make sense if we had an extended version that helped me do this.” Moreover, Lautman amusingly kept responding to the proposal while it was happening in real life. For this reason, Wang and him both couldn’t stop giggling the entire time!

“Yass, I said!” On her personal Instagram, Wang exclaimed. “Because it’s right, our relationship has been so simple. My remarks never bother you; instead, you take offense and respond with even more insults. You have an understanding of both myself and, more significantly, my cats. You’ve fulfilled their desire to have a father figure. I’m eager to spend more time with you and our kitties.

“Every day is easy with you, Megan,” Lautman continued. Rich in happiness, joy, and laughter—and, of course, lots of cats. Anticipating a lifetime of companionship!”
