Next week, when Cash Newman from Home and Away finds out that Stevie Marlow isn’t coming back for her next movie, he gets furious.
Cash is astounded by the callousness as Stevie’s film executives act quickly to save their intended romantic comedy, All Our Tomorrows.
For the past few weeks, Stevie has been in Summer Bay, filming the romance film on location.
The project got off to a great start, but after Sidney, Stevie’s stalker, was let out of jail, things took an unexpected turn. With a dark aim to murder Stevie, the dangerous criminal made his way directly to the Bay, shocking everyone in the neighborhood.
In the July 8 episode of Channel 5, Stevie battles for her life after Sidney shoots her on the beach. After being taken to the hospital in a hurry, Bree Cameron and Levi Fowler are unable to save her.
The consequences become apparent the following week when Cash is let go by the security firm he works for.
Cash was serving as Stevie’s bodyguard at the time of the incident, thus a formal investigation into how things went so horribly wrong is required.
There wasn’t anything Cash could have done to save Stevie because no one informed him that Sidney was free on bond until it was too late. He still holds himself responsible for not protecting her in spite of this.
Although he has other concerns, Nelson Giles, who directed Stevie’s film, is also curious to know the answers. He informs Cash that, in order to get the movie back on track, he has been told to replace Stevie’s role due to pressure from his superiors.
This revelation infuriates Cash, who argues that it’s disrespectful to discuss replacing Stevie when she hasn’t even been laid to rest.
After seeing Cash lose it, Bree tells his sister Felicity that he ought to think about getting counseling.
When Felicity discovers Cash viewing Stevie’s well-known horror movie Death Throes at home, she brings up the topic, but he obstinately won’t listen.
