Georgie Parker, star of Home and Away, took a temporary leave of absence from the show to perform in a production for Sydney’s Ensemble Theatre and have significant surgery. Some fans wish for her character, Roo Stewart, to be permanently removed from our screens as she has been gone for some time.
The authors dispatched Roo to see her nephew Ryder Jackson (played by Lukas Radovich), a mixologist aboard a cruise ship. Many fans expressed their desire that Roo would “never come back” in response to a fan’s question about her whereabouts in a well-known Facebook fan group.
One said, “I forgot she even existed,” while another concurred, saying, “I haven’t missed her at all.” I believe they have exhausted all of her storylines.
A third said, “I forgot about her, it’s been nice without her around.”
“But truly, has she not been missed? Character kind of meaningless,” another person said.
Some demanded that the authors enhance Roo’s narratives.
“I believe her character has to be addressed. Return her daughter or find her a partner with stepchildren! One commenter said, “She’s turned into a nothing character, which is a fascinating development.
“Georgie Parker deserves a respectable plot since she is the best senior female actor. Another person remarked, “She has more skill in her little finger than Ada Nicodemou or Emily Symons combined.”
“Last year, Ada was given some interesting material to act out and Emily was given some wonderful plots. Is Georgie going to act out some meaningful things? A third enquired.
After undergoing significant surgery in early June, Georgie, who has portrayed Roo Stewart for 14 years, provided an update on her recuperation.
The celebrity underwent two hip replacements in the last six years after receiving a scoliosis diagnosis at the age of thirteen.
“I’m three weeks post-operative, recuperation is progressing nicely, and my family, my place of employment, and my amazing friends have provided the most amazing support.” I’m trying to be patient as I heal so I can go back to work, sweetie,” she posted on Instagram.
In August, Georgie was spotted on the set of Home and Away, where a fan snapped a picture of the celebrity as she was filming in Palm Beach.
The characters Kirby Aramoana (Angelina Thomson), Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons), and Roo appear to be protesting in the scenario.
The fan who shot the picture claimed that although they couldn’t make out the specifics of the protest posters, they thought it had to do with women.
As the show films five to six months in advance, this sequence will probably air on television in January or February.
