Home and Away fans relieved to see fan favourite return for Felicity’s funeral: ‘So glad’

Before Felicity Newman’s funeral, which takes place on Monday night, viewers of Home and Away are delighted to see the return of a significant character. Felicity passed away on Monday night from a brain aneurysm, and her life support was turned off.

Following Flick’s hospital stay last week, fans began to wonder if Felicity’s foster father, Gary, would visit to bid her farewell, because they were aware that Jacqui Purvis had left the program.

Fans are pleased to see that Flick’s foster father Gary makes an appearance in the funeral promos for Felicity, as they were first introduced to him when he escorted her down the aisle during her wedding to Tane.

Though she cherished her time on the program, Felicity’s actress Jacqui Purvis told Yahoo Lifestyle this week that it was time for her to leave the serial opera. I’ve had an amazing experience working on the show. “Some of my greatest years ever,” the woman remarked. “However, I knew I wanted an international career, so, I had to make the decision to leave and take the plunge.”

One individual posted on a Facebook group, “So glad Gary is coming back,” while others wished he would return permanently. Another said, “I hope Gary stays a permanent character because I absolutely love him,” and another said, “Great actor, be good to see him more.”

Another person made an assumption on the funeral, saying, “I wonder if they take Flick’s body back to Gary’s farm or maybe in the area where she grew up—the background looks like it’s in the country.”

A few supporters were a tad, well, thirsty. “Yayyyy hottie Peter Phelps is back, even for just a short time,” gushed an admirer.

The decision by Cash to give Felicity’s organs after they removed her life support was a major theme of the episode, which highlighted the value of organ donation.

A fan expressed their gratitude to the show for promoting organ donation after another said that the moment had to be the “saddest death”. “I lost my mate three months ago exactly the same, so glad they promoted organ donation,” they said.

Another fan commented, “I’m glad all the doctors and nurses stood and said goodbye.”
