Home and Away previews medical emergency for Alf Stewart

Dramas involving the heart are nothing new to Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher). In 2016, while on the Blaxland, he suffered a heart attack and stroke. In 2018, a sinkhole occurred beneath the high school, trapping him and his daughter Roo (Georgie Parker).

In the later attack, he informed Roo that Martha Stewart, her mother, was alive and healthy despite the popular belief that she had perished three years before to the release of Home and Away.

A recent teaser for the episode suggests that Alf will experience another heart-related worry as he passes out outside the Surf Club.

But this time, as she freezes while tending to him, Bree (Juliet Godwin) will put him in danger due to her persistent fear.

The trailer opens with images of Alf with his loved ones, showing him hugging Roo and Leah (Ada Nicodemou), then exchanging “I love yous” with his daughter.

Next, we watch Alf working for Surf Club when he loads up the club’s rescue boat with John (Shane Withington).

The narration in the promo states, “He’s always been the heart of the bay.”

Alf looks shaky on his feet as he helps John load up the boat. John inquires about his well-being as he finds it difficult to inhale deeply.

John offers, “I can pack the rest of this if you’re puffed,” but Alf dismisses his worries, saying, “No, no, I’m good.”

The voiceover goes on, “But it’s his heart that will send shockwaves through the bay.”

Alf is anxious as he puts his hand to his chest and collapses to the ground a few days later while standing close to the Surf Club.

While Tane (Ethan Browne), Harper (Jessica Redmayne), and Perri (Cantona Stewart) are passing by, Perri rushes towards Alf after spotting him fall to the ground.

He yells, “Call an ambulance,” and Tane comes running.

Bree takes care of Alf while he is being transported to Northern Districts Hospital; nevertheless, Bree is currently experiencing a crisis of confidence.

Bree has been questioning herself since Felicity’s (Jacqui Purvis) tragic death a few weeks ago. She feels bad about herself because she was unable to save one of Summer Bay’s most cherished citizens.

She has been scrutinizing every choice she makes and verifying the work of her staff and herself ever since, which has greatly irritated nurse Dana (Ally Harris).

Bree has been resisting Dana’s attempts to get her to open up by not talking to her or Remi (Adam Rowland) about how she feels.

She gave Dana a hard time during tonight’s triple-bill in Australia for both challenging her authority and informing Remi that something wasn’t right. She tried to divert her attention by giving the fridge in the Lyrik house a thorough cleaning, but eventually broke down in tears.

She can’t decide what to do because she has to cater to Alf, who is in severe condition and lying in a hospital bed.

Bree is urged to assist Alf by Marilyn (Emily Symons) when he crashes once more.

Assist him. She yells, “Bree, Bree, do something!” as Bree appears to be at a loss for what to do and looks around.

Concerned, a nurse screams out Dr. Cameron’s name in an attempt to calm the woman down.

She says, “Dr. Cameron, we have to do something now,” but Bree just remains still.

“Bree, please help him; why aren’t you taking action?” Marilyn yells in the distance.

Bree can hardly hear the chorus of terrified voices around her, though, as she starts to feel overwhelmed.

Will she intervene in time to save Alf?
