There have been several rumors for months regarding the departure of some of the show’s most beloved characters, such as Tane, Harper and her child, Xander and Rose, Alf’s estranged second cousin’s long-lost dog, and so on. The point is, rumors are starting to circulate in fan Facebook groups, and it appears that some minor speculations have now been verified.

The turbulent love lives of the Bay inhabitants are another element that draws viewers into shows like Home and Away, among the turmoil and death. There’s just so much love and lust for such a small community. Well done, guys.

Following Abigail Fowler’s recent arrival in the Bay, many began to speculate that she and Mali Hudson might wind up dating. Now, that speculation is all but verified as a fan uploaded some video purporting to show the two sharing a kiss by the beach.

Some fans were perplexed by the video since they believed that Mali and Kirby would genuinely start dating. One fan asked, “What about Kirby? They overlooked her, even though she deserved a wonderful man.”

It doesn’t follow that everyone will be content when one romance heats up. It indicates that someone has to be killed off.

Actress Kirsty Marillier took on a number of new projects in 2025, including acting in Picnic at Hanging Rock alongside Olivia DeJonge at the Sydney Opera House from February 17 to April 5, 2025. Rose’s departure from the Bay has been the subject of rumors for some time. But, supporters were clinging to the hope that Rose might stay around after she was recently seen filming.

On October 9, Kirsty filmed her final scenes as Rose, and it has been confirmed on a Facebook fan page that she drove off into the sunset while pals Kirby and Bree waved her off.

Rose’s brother Xander appears to be leaving earlier, leading some fans to speculate that Rose may leave the Bay to be with him. “I reckon Xander leaves to do his new business stuff and Rose can’t live without him so follows him a little later?” Someone replied.

Another individual said, “May as well call it ‘Away’ as everyone is leaving, no one is home.”
