Home and Away Spoilers – Harper tells Tane he’s going to be a dad

Perri (Cantona Stewart) has been living with mentor Tane (Ethan Browne) since storming out on his violent dad Carl (Matthew Holmes), who had coerced Perri into carrying out different activities that put him in juvenile jail.

After Tane took Perri under his wing, Perri finally spoke out because he knew that as he got closer to becoming eighteen, any more indiscretions would land him in jail rather than juvie.

Even still, Carl is still making every effort to get in touch with his kid, even though Perri finally blocked Carl’s number after he kept trying to call.

Tane, who is doing everything in his power to protect Perri, was struck this week by the untimely passing of his ex-wife Felicity (Jacqui Purvis), with whom he had rekindled his relationship just before she passed away from a brain aneurysm.

Tane, however, is still in the dark about becoming a parent because Harper (Jessica Redmayne) became pregnant after a single night of dating. Tane’s desire has always been to become a father, but Harper has been waiting for the ideal moment to inform him, and the events of the last week have added to her challenges.

The following week, Perri answers his phone to an unknown number and discovers it’s Carl getting around Perri’s block by using a friend’s phone. Harper tells Perri that he doesn’t have to talk to him if he doesn’t want to after realizing who he is speaking to, but Perri puts up a strong front.

Harper informs Tane right away about the call and Perri’s apparent fear. Later, Perri responds to Tane’s question about Carl’s desires, saying it was nothing positive.

When Harper informs Dana (Ally Harris) about Perri over at the Beach House, Dana questions if Harper is now using Perri as a cover to keep Tane from knowing about the baby. Dana notes that there always seems to be a cause.

Dana notices that Harper, who has become fond of Tane, finds it difficult, but Harper informs her that their relationship has evolved into something more than that—she is in love! How is she supposed to parent with him while keeping her actual emotions hidden?

Perri, in the meantime, informs Tane that although Carl is pressing for more information on a task he needs assistance with, he is resolved to maintain his position and keep declining.

Hearing this makes Tane happy, and he advises Perri to inform him if Carl calls again.

Harper finally arranges to meet Tane to tell him about the pregnancy, but just as she starts talking she’s stopped by a call from Carl. Again, foiled!

Tane fears that Carl won’t give up on Perri, and it appears that Tane is correct when Carl subsequently surprises Perri by waltzing into the gym.

Carl responds that a good place to start looking was the Summer Bay Fit kids program, which Perri had expressed interest in, when she asks how he found him.

Carl again makes it plain that Perri is expected to help him on his next assignment, but a defiant Perri informs him that he’s not doing it any more.

Carl tells him that his family should always come first and that he should come look for him again if he isn’t home by tomorrow night.

Tane enters the room and interrupts the conversation, telling Carl to leave the property.

Perri chases after Tane as he follows Carl outside and tells him not to come back since he’s heard all about what he did. Tane stands by Perri as she resists Carl’s attempts to get her into the car.

When Carl gets in his car, he gets upset and searches online for Tane, bringing up the Coastal News article on his suspended sentence. something that would work in his favor.

Carl arrives later in the week, furious that Perri didn’t show up for the job after all, and finds him alone in the gym. Perri tells his father that since he is eighteen, he is free to do as he pleases, but Carl then uses what he believes to be his advantage.

Carl brings up Tane’s suspended sentence, pointing out that Tane only needs to make a small mistake to end up behind bars. Perri, fuming, orders Carl to keep away from Tane. If Perri comes home with Carl now, he’s delighted to…

Tane and Harper are both present to see the fight as Carl chases Perri into the clubroom and tells him not to leave his family.

Carl starts baiting Tane right away, asking him why he would invite a teenage lad into his house.

Perri hesitantly agrees to accompany Carl since she is worried about what Tane might do, while Harper rushes upstairs to get Rose (Kirsty Marillier).

Tane tries to stop the two by following them outside, but Perri is doing her hardest to call Tane off. But Tane seems to be giving Carl exactly what he wants as he pushes him.

Carl teasingly says, “Ooh wow.” “Don’t you truly want to hit me? Then, hurry up!

Things get heated and Harper rushes over to Rose, telling Tane he has too much to lose.

Harper, what? After leaving Flick’s memorial service, a tense Tane asks, already at his lowest point. “What am I still standing to lose?”

“I’m expecting,” she exclaims. “You will become a father.”
