On Home and Away (1:45pm; check our TV Guide for listings), Ethan Browne’s character Tane Parata has taken on the role of guardian for Perri Hayes, a troubled adolescent.
Unfortunately, though, Perri’s violent father, Carl Hayes (played by Matthew Holmes in Australian dramas like Blue Heelers and Sea Patrol), is always present in the background.
On today’s episode of the Aussie serial, social worker Harper Matheson (Jessica Redmayne) receives a phone call from Carl.
After being subjected to emotional and physical abuse by his father, Perri has made it apparent that he does not want anyone to get in touch with him.
However, Harper feels it is her responsibility to attempt to defuse the situation between her father and her son.
Carl soon makes an appearance at Summer Bay Fit and tries to coerce Perri into doing another sketchy job for him!
Carl tries to scare Perri when he says no.
Tane intervenes and tells Carl to leave and never return!
Furious with Tane for interfering with his family’s company, Carl conducts some investigation and finds something SURPRISE that might put Tane in serious problems.
Kyle Shilling’s character, Kirby Aramoana, makes an effort to persuade Mali Hudson to enter the art competition.
Ultimately, a whopping $15,000 is up for grabs!
But Mali does not think now is the appropriate moment to discuss his paintings given everything that has transpired since Felicity Newman’s passing.
Sadly, Kirby won’t let the issue go unanswered, and soon enough, Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons) and Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) find out about Mali’s creative abilities!
Mali is displeased with Kirby’s meddling.
Is Mali’s refusal to participate in the painting competition for another purpose, though?
