Home and Away star responds to tragic death storyline

Star of Home and Away Jacqui Purvis talked about leaving the serial opera as Felicity Newman.

The actress, who began work on the serial opera in 2021, announced her departure on August 12 when Felicity passed away during Cash and Eden’s engagement celebration due to blurred vision. The character will unfortunately not be returning.

Purvis gave a detailed explanation of her reasons for leaving the soap opera in an interview with Yahoo Australia, saying that the three years she spent there was the ideal amount of time to spend before getting ready to move on with her career.

She said, “I’ve had an amazing time on the show.” “Some of my greatest years ever.” Nevertheless, I had to decide to go and accept the risk because I was certain that I desired a career abroad.

Last week, Felicity’s impending death was hinted at by putting her, Cash, and Irene Roberts in perilous circumstances to heighten the tension.

Joshua Orpin announced the end of his role as Rory Templeton in recent weeks, making Purvis not the only cast member to depart the soap opera. The actor, who began filming the serial opera in June, evaluated his brief time there in a statement he posted on Instagram.

“We bid Rory farewell tonight as he heads out of Summer Bay in search of better days ahead… He started, “And by greener pastures, I mean the stifling concrete pastures of a tiny prison cell.” If I claimed he doesn’t fully deserve it, I would be lying!

Nevertheless, I hope these past several weeks with him around have been enjoyable for you. Earlier this year, I had the incredible honor of become a part of the incredibly creative and dedicated @homeandaway team, contributing to the creation of this character.

What a privilege it is to add even a tiny bit to the illustrious history of this beloved Australian television program! I’m not sure if we’ll ever see Rory again, but I have no doubt that the River Boys will visit the bay once more.
