Home And Away Star Teases 2025 Storyline: 'River Boy Action'

Actor Patrick O’Connor, who portrays Dean, has given fans further teases about what to anticipate when he and Sophie Dillman, who plays Ziggy, return to the hit soap opera after the joyful news surfaced that two fan favorites from Home and Away are scheduled to return next year.

Since leaving Summer Bay in early 2023, the couple playing the lovebirds—who are actually in a relationship in real life—have been traveling and living throughout the UK and Europe. Following the announcement of their unexpected comeback, Sophie exclaimed that it felt “good to be home,” and Patrick stated he was eager for the action and for the audience to see this plot develop.

After having their first child together, Izzy, Ziggy and Dean left Summer Bay in 2023. Deciding to move to Queensland to be nearer to Dean’s son Jai, they bid farewell to the place where they first fell in love. The new plot will take place in the Whitsundays, and this month, the couple is filming the “top-secret” storyline in North Queensland.

In an interview with Confidential of The Daily Telegraph, Patrick shared a bit more information on what fans might anticipate from the couple’s comeback.

Sorry, Home and Away fans—this homecoming will just be temporary. In real life, the couple stated they are only “seeking adventure” and have no plans to return to Australia permanently.

Even though it was just a one-time event, fans were naturally thrilled to see the famous couple back together.

“OMG, please let me know if they plan to stay for a while as well. Someone said, “I love these two, they’ve been missed.” “You brightened my day! The greatest H&A couple!” exclaimed a second.

One fan said, “YAYYYYYYYYY @homeandaway we needed this after losing Felicity.” “I’m going to cry, really! 😭 I am really excited for the coming year!” wrote another touched person.

“Love seeing Sophie and Patrick’s personal journey while they have been away from The Bay, but this news makes me very happy,” said another admirer.
