The Irene Roberts actress posted a photo of herself from the set on Instagram, showing off a recently sewn scar on her forehead. The seasoned soap opera performer explained that the injury was designed for a scene where her character tumbles down the steps.
“Thank you all for your concern but this is brilliant makeup by my friend and @homeandaway makeup artist @hil_brooks_mua for a scene where my character Irene had a tumble down the stairs!” In his writing, McGranger added, “Realistic isn’t it?!?”
Hilary Middlebrook shared further pictures of McGranger in the makeup chair and Irene at the foot of the stairs with blood seeping from her wound on her personal Instagram page.
“Working on this tale with @lynnemcgranger was so much fun! An authentic Australian legend! There will be more BTS soon!” Middlebrook sent a message on Instagram.
As part of Irene’s relapse narrative, the fall aired in Australia last week; viewers in the UK will be able to catch up next month.
Irene is currently recovering from her injury in rehab, and McGranger is taking a brief vacation from Summer Bay to play in a play. As she revealed in January of this year, the actor is a member of the cast of the comedy stage play The Grandparents Club.
She clarified that she is “not leaving anything permanently” at the time, saying, “[I’ll be going for] just a little while,” on Australia’s The Morning Show (via 7 News).
