Amy Robbins stars as Christina Boyd in Coronation Street, but away from Weatherfield, she is married to another well-known actor.

Coronation Street’s Christina Boyd is happily married to George Shuttleworth on the ITV soap, but fans may be wondering who actress Amy Robbins is married to in real life. Several stars who have appeared on the popular ITV soap have also been linked to well-known partners.
Among them are Leanne actress Jane Danson, who is married to an Emmerdale actor, and Bernie Winter star Jane Hazlegrove, whose wife is also a familiar face from the soap world. Christina Boyd actress Amy Robbins can now be added to that list, as she is married to another well-known actor.
Amy joined Coronation Street in 2023, taking on the role of Christina, the mother of Daisy Midgeley, played by Charlotte Jordan. Away from the cobbles of Weatherfield, Amy is married to actor Robert Daws, whose acting career has lasted for almost five decades.
Robert has appeared in a number of popular television shows, including Death in Paradise and Holby City. He is also well known for playing Tuppy Glossop in the ITV comedy series Jeeves and Wooster between 1990 and 1993.
Interestingly, Robert has also appeared in Coronation Street. In 2010, he took on the role of Tom Hughes in the long-running ITV soap.

Amy and Robert’s relationship began while they were working together on the ITV medical drama The Royal. Amy played Dr Jill Weatherill, while Robert portrayed her on-screen husband, Dr Gordon.
Speaking about their first meeting, Amy explained that their real-life relationship eventually became part of the show’s storyline. She revealed that they met while working on the series and were married by the end of the first season. Because they had also married in real life, the writers decided to incorporate their relationship into the plot.

Robert joked that they practically had their honeymoon while filming the show. He recalled asking whether they had actually had a honeymoon, before remembering that they had around four days off between episodes seven and eight. Amy agreed and revealed that they had been married for 13 years.
Amy and Robert are also parents to two daughters, Elizabeth and May. However, Amy has described her first experience of giving birth as a difficult and upsetting one.
She recalled her experience to the publication, saying that it felt like a nightmare. Amy remembered walking into the labour ward and feeling as though she had entered hell, describing the experience as if all the women there were being tortured.

Amy explained that she had to undergo an emergency caesarean section after being induced. Due to complications, she later required several further surgeries to resolve the problems. She described the experience as extremely frightening and incredibly painful.
Robert has also spoken about how his relationship with Amy began. In a previous interview, he revealed that they both joined The Royal at the same time and first met during the initial read-through. They were seated next to each other, although Robert joked that he barely paid attention to Amy and instead spent much of the time chatting to another actress sitting on his other side.
According to Robert, it was around six months before their relationship became serious, and they married within a year. He described that period as an eventful one, with a new job, marriage and the arrival of a baby all happening within the same year.
