Shona and David Platt have been tormented by Jodie Ramsey for months, and Coronation Street viewers believe one of the married pair could be heading for a shock prison exit.

Coronation Street viewers are convinced they have figured out what will happen to Shona Platt after her sister, Jodie Ramsey, mysteriously disappeared from her hospital bed. Fans of the ITV soap know that Jodie, played by Olivia Frances Brown, has been tormenting Shona, portrayed by Julia Goulding, for several months.

In her latest attempt to cause trouble, Jodie tried to seduce Shona’s husband, David Platt, played by Jack P. Shepherd. The couple eventually reached their limit and decided it was time for Jodie to leave.

While David was gathering Jodie’s belongings, he stumbled upon a mysterious box containing several items. Among the discoveries were his watch, a photograph of Bernie Winter-Alahan, played by Jane Hazlegrove, DS Lisa Connor-Swain’s warrant card, portrayed by Vicky Myers, and a gun.

Jodie insisted that the firearm was only a replica, but during a struggle with Shona, she accidentally shot herself. DS Swain quickly arrived at the scene, but David misled the police officer by claiming that he and Shona had been outside the property when they heard the gunshot. He also said that when they entered the house, the person responsible was nowhere to be found.

David was later spotted getting rid of the gun by throwing it into a nearby canal. However, some Coronation Street viewers believe Shona could soon find herself behind bars.

Taking to a Coronation Street fan page on Facebook, one viewer wrote: “If they lie to police they’ll find gunshot residue on Shona’s hands and she said she was in the garden.”

Another fan commented: “It must be Shona’s turn to go to prison next.”

A third viewer added: “Shona’s prints would be all over it. They all deserve to be punished for their stupidity and perverting the course of justice.”

During Sunday’s (October 11) episode, DS Swain was left puzzled by the circumstances surrounding the incident. She was particularly suspicious about why David had contacted her regarding the recovered police badge instead of simply handing it over when he next saw her.

Before heading to the police station to provide a more detailed statement, David and Shona wanted to find out what Jodie had already told the police. They visited her in hospital, where Jodie explained that she had told the officers someone had attempted to break into the house and that she had been shot after disturbing the intruder.

Shona felt relieved and grateful that her sister had helped clear their names. However, David made it clear that Jodie would no longer have any involvement in their family’s lives.

In a bid to change their minds, the manipulative Jodie quickly began crying, claiming she had nobody and nowhere to turn.

Later, the Platt family argued about what they should do with Jodie. Shona began blaming herself, believing the incident might never have happened if they had not got involved. However, when she returned to the hospital ward, she discovered that Jodie had disappeared.

A nurse informed Shona that her sister had discharged herself from the hospital. But could Jodie’s sudden departure be part of another sinister scheme? Is she trying to make Shona and David worry about her safety in the hope that they will change their minds and allow her to stay with the family?
