EastEnders Fans May Recognise the Homeless Man Alongside Alfie Moon in Thursday’s Emotional BBC Soap Episode

EastEnders has aired a heartbreaking standalone episode centred on Kat and Alfie Moon as their marriage faces an uncertain future. In recent episodes of the BBC soap, Kat (Jessie Wallace) has been struggling to cope with the devastating loss of her daughter Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) and has been taking her anger out on those closest to her.
On Wednesday (October 14), Kat continued drinking heavily and behaving erratically as her loved ones struggled to reach her. She also wrote a list of possible ways to ease her pain, including ‘drink, cruelty, violence, run away’. However, the fifth point was deliberately left blank, raising further concerns about her safety as Zoe had yet to be laid to rest.
During Thursday’s standalone episode, Alfie (Shane Richie) lashed out at his distressed wife Kat for tearing their family apart as he desperately tried to keep everyone together. As their argument escalated, Kat told Alfie she no longer wanted to be with him before coldly taking off her wedding ring. Alfie responded by removing his own ring, prompting Kat to walk out of the pub.

Kat made her way to Epping Forest, where she found herself surrounded by darkness. As rain poured down around her, she screamed out for her daughter.
Back at The Vic, Alfie lost his temper after one of the men Kat had been entertaining began provoking him.
In the barrel store, Alfie confided in Phil (Steve McFadden), admitting that he had reached breaking point with Kat and had made up his mind to leave. He secretly packed a bag before breaking down in tears as he looked in on the three boys sleeping peacefully.
Alfie then headed towards Walford East tube station, where he encountered a homeless man who had settled beside a railway bridge. The man’s name has not yet been revealed, and he was seen lying on the ground with a cigarette in one hand.
“Oi, it’s not a good night to be out, fella, so I tell you what, get yourself a room,” Alfie told him before handing him some money.

“Cheers, fella,” the man responds softly before Alfie hands over his mobile phone.
“While I’m at it, you may as well have that; you might get a few quid,” Alfie says before making his way into the station.
Alfie then answers a phone call from a semi-conscious Kat, who tells him that she has finally thought of the fifth point on her list of coping mechanisms.
Fearing that Kat might hurt herself, Alfie uses her phone to track her location before driving Charlie’s cab to Epping Forest. After searching the area, he eventually discovers his wife collapsed in the woods and takes her somewhere safe.
