The upcoming season jumps forward 18 months, with six episodes following father-daughter duo Gemma and Malcolm as they deal with new relationships, unexpected surprises and misunderstandings.

A star-studded BBC sitcom is set to return for a third season, which has been confirmed as its final instalment. The broadcaster has announced that Daddy Issues will be back on BBC One for one last series.
Filming is already underway for the show’s final season, which follows Gemma and her well-meaning but rather hopeless dad, Malcolm, as they find themselves living together again later in life. The new series will pick up 18 months after the events of season two.
Fans can look forward to six episodes as the father-daughter duo navigate new relationships, unexpected surprises and a series of misunderstandings.

The upcoming season will follow Gemma as she faces a fresh wave of problems while trying to adjust to her new promotion at the salon, all while her daughter Sadie flourishes at nursery. Things quickly descend into chaos when the flat she still shares with her dad suffers a flood, and a new romantic relationship leaves her tangled in a web of lies.
The BBC has not yet announced an official release date for the new series, although it is expected to arrive next year.
Daddy Issues stars White Lotus actress Aimee Lou Wood, 32, as Gemma, alongside Sherwood actor David Morrissey, 62, who plays her dad Malcolm. The cast also includes Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey, 64, and former Coronation Street favourite Shobna Gulati, 60. Returning for another season are regular cast members Sarah Hadland, 55, known for Miranda, and Sharon Rooney, 37, who recently appeared on Celebrity Traitors.

Aimee began her acting career with her screen debut in Netflix’s Sex Education before achieving international success with the American comedy-drama The White Lotus. Her portrayal of Chelsea earned her nominations for both an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
She has also presented an episode of Saturday Night Live UK, played Sally Bowles in the West End production of Cabaret, and is set to appear in several upcoming Hollywood films, including The Beatles, Anxious People and The Idiots.
Speaking about the sitcom’s return, Aimee expressed her excitement and happiness at being involved in the comedy series once again.
She said: “I’m so happy to be back with David and the brilliant Daddy Issues cast for one final time. Gemma and Malcolm are one of the funniest and sweetest comedy double acts on TV, and I’ve loved being a part of it.”
David Morrissey also shared his enthusiasm for returning to the show, saying: “I love doing Daddy Issues so much, such a great cast and crew! So I’m delighted to be coming back to have more adventures with Gemma, Malcolm and the gang!”
